COURSE SUMMARY

This unit aims to equip the learner with a range of methods to analyze the function and requirements of Information Systems, as well as the skills to compare systems analysis models, and to examine them in the wider context of the Internet and the social, economic and political climate of an organization. Finally, the skills needed to deliver outcomes are addressed.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

 

The prime objective of this course is to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and methods to analyze a system. In this course students will be exposed with the real-life scenarios through analyzing relevant cases through different methods.

ASSESSMENT PATTERN

       Quizzes:

 

There will be 3 quizzes taken during the semester; 2 of these to be conducted before the mid-term and the last quiz to be taken before the final assignment. No makeup quizzes will be taken. Students are strongly advised not to miss any quizzes.

 

Semester Assignment (Alternative to Midterm Exam):

 

This semester assignment is provided as an alternative to the Midterm Examination focusing on project based learning. Students will be required to solve given tasks of an assignment within a specific deadline to develop their critical thinking ability and creativity.

A case scenario is to be developed with some assigned tasks. Each student will require to complete these tasks and share the progress of their respective work to the course teachers until the due date. No late submission of assignments will be accepted.

Final Exam:

The final exam is conducted for the theory course.  Each theory course consists of questions that are designed in such a way that students can progress gradually to evaluate their critical thinking ability and creativity. The final exam is scheduled to take place at a given date and time. The students can also sit for improvements of the course at a later date maintaining the academic policies of the university.
